Any passenger carrying lift needs to be inspected and pass a LOLER inspection every 6 months whilst anything else such as pole droppers or pallet trucks need to pass an annual LOLER inspection.

What is LOLER?

LOLER stands for Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 98 (LOLER) this regulation states that; All equipment must be thoroughly examined by a competent person at least every 6 months or more frequently if used in a hostile environment. The Report of Thorough Examination must be kept on file and readily available when requested.
